Experience Henley loves a good panto…oh yes we do! So in Christmas spirit we sent Cherry Letsome aka The Henley Mum and her little one to see the Immersion Theatre‘s production of Aladdin at The Kenton Theatre this weekend. With loads of fun and plenty of laughs, it’s a must do this Christmas.

“What’s Up Wishee?” Yes – Christmas is here and that can mean only one thing. Panto season!

This year, it’s The Pantomime of Aladdin.

As the audience took their seats for this Sunday afternoon performance, it finally felt like panto season was back to the way it used to be.

The show is fun-filled and joyous. With a very talented ensemble, teamed up with a wonderful creative and backstage team, a great set and dazzling costumes, this Panto truly came to life and lit up the stage of the Kenton.

Our first introduction was to the villain of the show, Abanazar, who was played by the fantastic Charlie Keable. I cannot fault his performance; he was fantastic to watch and kept the audience interacting. Even better when he becomes the Genie of the Lamp and the end of the first act, with the sparkliest pants in Oxfordshire!

Luke Haywood and Rebecca Hazel take on the role of the loved-up Aladdin and Princess Blossom, with great on-stage chemistry. Rebecca has an incredible vocal range and blows the audience way in several music numbers.

Will Hazell and Tommy Pegg join forces as the lovable characters Widow Twankey and Wishee Washee. The immense fun and banter between them is infectious and they had the audience in stitches.

Alongside them, Rochelle Parry, Ella Faulkner and Charlotte Day pull the whole stage family together with their wonderful dancing, humour and multiple parts.

To sum up The Kenton Theatre’s 2022 panto; there is plenty of slapstick humour, sweetie catching, water pistol soaking and plenty of jokes for the grown-ups. The whole cast were clearly having a ball and so were the audience. So be prepared to join in with the fun from the start.

Book your tickets now, you won’t be disappointed ALADDIN – Kenton Theatre
