If you want A Journey Around Rosé, the wine tasting event this Thursday at The Terrace at the Red Lion Lawn is just the ticket. Cool down with delicious rosé wines on the riverside with Rosalind Cooper of The Rosé Report and paired tasty bites by The Henley Larder. Get in quick, ticket sales close midday tomorrow (Weds 13th).

At the Kenton Theatre running from 14th-17th is Legally Blonde – The Musical. The story is based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name. It tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrols at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner.

Friday night you can hop on up to Oaken Grove Vineyard in Fawley for a bit of a rock out with live music from Andy Crowdy’s Led Zeppelin Project. Plus wines from the vineyard, local beers and soft drinks will be available and wild venison cheeseburgers straight off the barbie.

A bit of outdoor theatre is never a bad thing, especially in this weather. On Friday The Mikron Theatre will be performing their new play Red Sky at Night at the Eyot Centre on the Wargrave Road. No tickets required, a ‘pay what you feel’ collection will be taken after the show.

We can’t keep away from the river for long in Henley, this weekend (15th-17th) is the eccentric and quintessentially British Thames Traditional Boat Festival at Fawley Meadows with WW1 & WW2 naval craft, Dunkirk Little Boats, aerobatics from the Bremont Great War Display team, dog show, Pop-Up restaurant, live music, story-tellers, shopping and more.

On Sunday 17th if you’re wanting to brush up on your cookery skills, Pavilion Foods have a “Dad’s Cookery 101” class, though I am sure that you don’t have to be a Dad! The classes are for whether you’re a complete novice or just struggle to find the time to cook for the family.

And of course it doesn’t have to be said, but grab a hire boat and have a pootle about on the river, or hire a canoe or a kayak, maybe a SUP session and after all that activity quench your thirst or have a bite to eat in one the many fabulous pub or restaurant courtyard gardens.

If you’re going to have a dip in the river to cool off, remember to stay safe.
