Regal Picturehouse Re-opens this Friday with New Release Proxima

The long awaited re-opening of Henley’s Regal Picturehouse is finally here and staff are busily preparing to open the doors this Friday 31st July.

The cinema will open it’s doors with the new release Proxima which follows a French astronaut who must leave her young daughter in order to prepare for a one year mission aboard the International Space Station.

In an interview with Variety, French Director Alice Winocour said, “I thought in cinema, you don’t see very often a character being an astronaut and a mother… I think in real life there are so many kinds of different mothers and most of them feel like they’re not good and not perfect” .

“The film is about the preparation and the separation between her and her daughter and how hard it is to leave the earth,” Winocour added. “To me, the more it is intimate, the more it has to be set in another world.”

The Regal will also be showing Parasite (Black & White) “just as fantastic and stylish with added elegance”, Onward a Disney fantasy adventure of teenage elf brothers Ian and Barley who embark on a magical quest to spend one more day with their late father, The Empire Strikes Back and 100% wolf which centres on Freddy Lupin, heir to a proud family line of werewolves. Positive he’ll become the most fearsome werewolf ever, Freddy is in for a shock when his first “warfing” goes awry, turning him into a ferocious – poodle.’

To pre-book tickets the Regal Picturehouse online box office opens tomorrow (28th July) and you can purchase tickets in person at the cinema from Friday 31st July.
