It’s a Gin Thing! Celebrate World Gin Day

IT’S A GIN THING!

As it’s World Gin Day tomorrow (12th June) we thought we’d ask local purveyors of Mother’s ruin, newly established The Henley Distillery and a favourite of many a Henleyite Mr Hobbs Gin what their favourite pour is at the moment.

As well as their new classic dry gin running through the stills as we speak and due to launch at the end of June, The Henley Distillery have suggested a refreshing and fruity Rhubarb and Orange Henley Gin:

  • 50ml Rhubarb & Orange Henley Gin
  • 200ml Fever Tree Ginger Ale
  • Lots of Ice
  • 1 Ribbon of Orange Peel
  • 2 Batons of Fresh Rhubarb
  • 3 Sticks of Ginger Root

Suzy Hobbs of Mr Hobbs Gin said that her perfect serve would be:

‘Pour a generous slug of Mr Hobbs Henley gin over plenty of good quality ice, pair it with a Mediterranean Fever Tree tonic water and finish with a curl of orange peel to garnish and find a nice sunny spot to relax and enjoy!’

Of course if you don’t want the faff of making a drink yourself, you could always treat yourself to a pre-mixed Martini from the doyens of all things classy to eat & drink in Henley, Crockers in Henley Market place.

“We blend Tanqueray gin with just the right amount of Dolin dry vermouth to create what we feel is the perfect Martini. Finished with just a little lemon oil to add our own touch”

That’s made us thirsty, we’re off to the garden for a tasty G&T over ice – CHEERS, ENJOY WORLD GIN DAY
