Henley-on-Thames has been awarded Gold in the 2026 Regional Bloom Awards, achieving an outstanding score of 92 out of 100. The result celebrates the collective efforts of residents, volunteers, businesses, community groups and organisations who help make Henley a vibrant, welcoming and environmentally conscious place to live, work and visit.

Judges Steve Catnach and Julie Graham visited Henley on 4th August 2026 and praised the town’s wide-ranging horticultural, environmental and community initiatives.

The judges highlighted Henley’s strong civic pride, biodiversity and exceptional community involvement. Their report commended the town’s wildflower areas, planting schemes, community events, educational activities and work to support wildlife and pollinators. They also recognised the contribution of local organisations, businesses and volunteer.

Experience Henley was proud to be part of the team supporting Henley in Bloom, delivering the Festival of Sunflowers, which brought residents, schools and businesses together in a joyful celebration of community planting and pollinator-friendly gardening.

The judges’ overall comments were notably positive, describing Henley’s maintenance standards as excellent and acknowledging the breadth of activity taking place throughout the year. They also emphasised how the involvement of groups from across the community strengthens Henley’s identity and sustainability.

A spokesperson for Henley Town Council said: “This Gold award is a wonderful achievement for Henley and a tribute to everyone who gives their time, energy and enthusiasm to make our town such a special place. A score of 92 is extraordinary, and the recognition belongs to the whole community — volunteers, residents, businesses, schools and community groups alike.”

Henley’s 92/100 score places the town among the highest-scoring entries in the Thames & Chiltern region, offering well-deserved recognition for the dedication and hard work that go into maintaining and enhancing the town throughout the year.
