Free parking is available in all of South Oxfordshire District Council Car Parks in Henley on Friday 10th, 17th & 24th December.

Each year free parking is provided during days in December to help encourage people to shop locally for Christmas. On the above days there is no need to display a ticket.

So why not take advantage of the free parking and enjoy a day of supporting Henley by shopping for your Christmas presents in all of our wonderful shops and have a bite to eat in one of Henley’s great pubs, restaurants or cafes.

Cllr Sue Cooper, Cabinet Member for Environment, Climate Change and Nature Recovery at South Oxfordshire District Council, said: “We have a great selection of independent shops offering very different and original gifts which would make the perfect Christmas present, and by buying local you will also be supporting your own community.  We already offer an hour’s free parking in most of our car parks, but free Christmas parking days will give people more time to explore locally without having to pay any extra.  I would always urge people to walk, cycle or use public transport where possible, but I know that may not always be possible for those picking up larger presents or those who live further away in rural areas.”

Other towns have free parking on the following days:

  • Abingdon – Saturdays 4, 11 and 18 December
  • Didcot – Mondays – 6, 13 and 20 December
