Well, what can we say about 2021? We hope that whatever it brought you, that you were able to enjoy some fabulous times experiencing Henley, whether it was at home, supporting local businesses, visiting some amazing places or sharing good/interesting/different times or discovering new and exciting things.

It’s time to say adiós, au revoir, arrivederci and adeus to 2021 and to welcome in the New Year. So what are your plans?

Staying in? No problem, stock up on lots of delicious goodies from the two wonderful delicatessens in town, The Henley Larder or Pavilion Foods, or take a trip to a local Farm Shop nearby to knock up something special with a glass of local fizz from Fairmile Vineyard, Kingwood Estate or Hundred Hills. You can even take all the stress out by ordering a New Year’s Eve celebration menu from Côte at Home (keep your eyes peeled for the opening of their new restaurant in Henley in the New Year).

Fancy listening to a few tunes and partying? The Baskerville in Shiplake will have deli boards, a buffet and ‘great tunes’ to see the year out, whilst Hof’s Bar & Dining are celebrating Monte Carlo style with a Casino Royal theme partying away until 3am and The Old Bell in Bell Street is promising a New Year’s Eve Party of outrageous cocktails, incredible music, canapés all evening and a glass of bubbly at midnight.

If all of the above sounds a bit much why not chill out and enjoy a film at The Regal Picturehouse showing Steven Spielberg and Pulitzer Prize-winning screenwriter Tony Kushner’s West Side Story, the much anticipated follow-up to his adventure Far from Home, Spiderman: No Way Home and an adventure-filled prequel to the riotous, action-packed romps of Kingsman: The Secret Service and its follow-up The Golden Circle, The King’s Man.
