Bowlers Balls Book is giving curry to carers

Jez Felwick aka The Bowler lives in Gallowstree Common and is well known for delivering gourmet meatballs, fishballs and vegballs from his mobile grass-fed van that can be found in various locations around the UK. All balled by hand, his Great Balls of Fire have garnered fans (or ballers) from food critics to fashionistas and he is selling the last 100 copies of his cookbook that he bought, to help support NHS workers by gifting them with a jar of Swaadish Curry sauce.

Jez now heads up Swaadish Curry after falling in love with the sauces made in Moulsford by four sisters who hail from the Gujarat region of India, but that’s a whole other story.

On Instagram earlier this week Jez said, “So this week @glastofest got postponed again putting a shed load more uncertainty on festivals & events. These have formed the back bone of my work over the last decade.

HOWEVER out of negatives, positives. Have come up with a multi faceted offer that helps me out, gives you something to do and gets some of the NHS a tasty, healthy meal!

I bought the last 100 copies of my cookbook (2nd ed) a couple of years back. I usually sell them at the events and parties. Now they are boxed up and taking up space!

Would LOVE you guys to buy one of the last copies around. Each one is £10. Happily signed “BALLS TO COVID-19” or to anyone you want! It’s almost Valentine’s Day…❤💕 Buy it from the shop – link in bio 👆

A tenner breaks down like this : £4.50 covers cost, £3.50 postage and for each one I sell, £2 will be used to give a jar of @swaadishcurry to NHS workers and carers #curryforcarers.

This is something I did during the first wave/lockdown 1. I have spoken to the wellbeing unit at Royal Berkshire Hospital already and know other places, if people get on board.

The book is a proper @octopus_books_ affair. It’s got all my secret recipes in it as well as contributions from the likes of @hawksmoorrestaurants, @homesliceldn, @theribman@ballymaloecookeryschool and @luardos. A look at the of the arrival of food trucks and the start of the UK street food a decade ago. Check out all the lovely reviews on Amazon!”

You get to cook great meatballs and NHS workers get to eat great curry, it’s a WIN, WIN!
