Trad Boat Festival will go ahead August Bank Holiday

Henley is looking to make up for the lost summer of 2020 with a jam packed summer calendar for 2021. The latest to make an announcement is the ever popular ‘Trad Boat Fest’.

In it’s 42nd year, Lady McAlpine and Adam Troop, co chairs of the Thames Traditional Boat Festival, have confirmed that the event WILL go ahead this year on Friday 27th – Monday 30th August Bank Holiday weekend at Fawley Meadows.

They said that they have had to move it to the Bank Holiday weekend following Henley Royal Regatta’s announcement to stage this years regatta from 9th-14th August.

” We have all fingers crossed that the weather will be kind and that no other events will be taking place in Henley that weekend to detract from our spectacular four-day Festival of Family Fun, food, drink, music, shopping, antiques: Oh – and BOATS !!  Dozens of Classic beautiful river-craft and the Dunkirk Little Ships, flags fluttering, owners primped and polished and itching to show off their beautiful “pets”.. and even to enter their four-legged pets in the Dog Shows!

A Quintessential English Summer Weekend by the river with bars and street food and the Crooked Billet Pop up Pub with Great Music to turn each evening into the Best Bank Holiday Party!”

  • Friday August 27th – soft opening… but party night!
  • Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th: full on Festival all day ’til 11.00 p.m.
  • Bank Holiday Monday 30th . . the music stops at 10.00 p.m.
