The Duck to land on Duke Street
Locals to Henley will be pleased to hear that The Duck, a community oriented pub, is soon to land in Duke Street at the end of September, part of the new group Symposium Pubs, led by former Rosa’s Thai operations head Jonny Bramwell.
In an Instagram post, Bramwell described the project as “maybe the worst kept secret ever,” sharing that after taking on The Three Horseshoes in Reading Road in May, the team is now preparing to launch The Duck just a short walk away.
Speaking to the Morning Advertiser Jonny explained that the new offer will move away from a high‑end, restaurant‑led approach and instead position itself as an accessible, premium high‑street pub. The menu will focus on well‑priced dishes such as ribs, flat iron steaks and simple pub classics, they want it to “be a pub, and to feel like a pub”.
We’re also loving the name, which we assume nods to Duck Street, the historic name for Duke Street.
