This spring, join Picturehouse Cinemas as they celebrate the history of The Comic Strip Presents, the series of short films which helped launch some of the biggest names in comedy: Robbie Coltrane, Rik Mayall, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Nigel Planer, Ade Edmondson and Peter Richardson. A 14-date Q&A tour at their cinemas across the country kicked off at their flagship Picturehouse Central last Saturday.

The tour stops at The Regal Picturehouse on Saturday, 18th May, and offers two different programmes:

The first programme, The Best of Comic Strip, will feature clip reels of some of the best-loved
Comic Strip moments interspersed with conversation and surprise guests.

The second programme includes a double bill of two brilliant films from their archive: Detectives on the Edge and Gino.

Detectives on the Edge
TV detectives from three decades come together to solve a murder where the only clue is a platform boot. Starring Jim Broadbent as ‘ Shouting George ‘ from The Sweeney, plus Jim Carter, Keith Allen, Peter Richardson and Phil Cornwell.

Gino: Full Story and Pics
Gino (Keith Allen), a fugitive on the run, keeps bumping into people who seem to be in worse trouble than he is. Co-starring Robbie Coltrane, Jennifer Saunders, Rik Mayall and Dawn French.

Both shows will include a live Q&A with The Comic Strip founder Peter Richardson, alongside special guest star Keith Allen and comedian Robin Ince in the hosting spot.

Step back in time when things were a little more playfully anarchic.

Don’t miss out on a night filled with laughs.
