Sika Inns are ramping up class culinary clout

It was recently announced that Michelin starred chef Dom Robinson has joined Sika Inns as Executive Group Chef. Newly formed Sika Inns, a collection of British Inns, restaurants & event spaces in and around Henley-on-Thames, mean business.

Robinson is classically trained and has worked alongside the leading lights in the industry including Anthony Demetre and Tom Aikens, he’s previously held a Michelin-star at his own pub, The Blackbird in Berkshire, and was most recently Group Executive chef for the 2 Michelin Starred chef Claude Bosi.

Of his new role, Robinson says: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be coming on board with David, Alex and the Sika Inns team. They have a reputation for excellence and have three beautiful sites and soon to have an epic events barn too. All exude hospitality and warmth and I felt instantly at home walking into each of them. I’m very excited for what the long term future holds.”

The Sika Inns group is owned by David Holliday and Alex Sergeant that comprises of, the renowned Bottle & Glass Inn at Binfield Heath with its exceptional picture perfect thatched cottage restaurant, burger barn and outdoor cooking, Hart Street Tavern serving modern British food in central Henley-on-Thames with original inspiration coming from Danny Meyers famous Gramercy Tavern in New York; and newly acquired Hambleden Village pub The Stag & Huntsman where the order of the day is uncompromised honest seasonal dishes.

David and Alex say to expect up to date, creative and approachable menus that feature the very best of the local, seasonal ingredients with game directly from their home estates, the Phillimore Estate and Culden Faw Estate, along with produce from the finest farmers, farms, producers & artisans around the area.

Head Chef Bottle & Glass Inn – Murry Lane

Dom Robinson isn’t the only new face in the Sika Inns team, Murry Lane has just been appointed as the new Head Chef at The Bottle & Glass Inn. The Bottle & Glass Inn has received many plaudits to date including top reviews from the likes of The Telegraph food critic William Sitwell ‘I could literally eat this every day of my life’.

Murry has worked in some top kitchens including The Greenhouse, a two Michelin star restaurant and trained with renowned chef Mark Jarvis for over three years at Blueprint London and Bingham Riverhouse, Richmond.

Murry will be working alongside Dom Robinson, “The Bottle & Glass pub menu & dining room is in very safe hands and we’re all looking forward to driving the standard with Murry at the stove“.
