Podcast: Feeling hot, hot, hot with Johnny Hot Stuff


The first of Experience Henley’s podcasts talks to grower of chillies and creator of fine fiery foods, hot sauce guru, John Maillard, otherwise know as as Johnny HOT Stuff.

Do you know your aji’s from your scotch bonnets and what you should be putting your chilli sauce on? John has the answers.

As well as superb sauces JHS has moved on to creating chilli salts but these aren’t you’re bog standard salts of chillis whizzed up with a bit of Maldon, though he does use the Kings of Salts for his, which he steeps in chillis!

There are many more products on the horizon including some spicy hot schnapps and a ‘Smokin’ Hot Date’!

We caught up with John with his chillis in Middle Assendon and at his production kitchen at the Henley Village in Newtown Road, Henley.

With Belizian and Jamaican influences his sauces really do hit the hot spot.
