Classic Italian restaurant chain Piccolino, part of the Individual Restaurant Group, is heading to Henley and enticingly says of itself that ‘diners will be immersed in Italian food culture and experience from the moment they walk through the door’.

Piccolino have applied for a premises licence at 20 Market Place, Henley-on-Thames in what was Crockers restaurant.

It’s not yet clear how they will deck out the interior but all their other venues look super plush and decadent. A spokesman from the Individual Restaurant Group said that they are excited about coming to Henley but that everything is not yet set in stone.

Pictured above is the recently opened nineteenth Piccolino restaurant in Wilmslow.

Example dishes from their other venues:

Toasted sourdough, king prawns, confit garlic butter, chilli & lemon
Fresh egg pasta, truffle & Parmesan sauce, fresh truffle

As to be expected pasta shines bright on the menus including hand-rolled fresh spaghetti and taglioni along with hand-made ravioli and tortelloni. A large selection of antipasti, and a crudi menu selection of tartares and carpaccios. Risotto, Bistecca, sharing cuts, pizza and day boat fish all have their starring role on the menu. Piccolino also promise iconic Italian and classic cocktails.

Of course as with anything the proof of the pudding is in the eating…so in the meantime here’s a pudding to drool over! Expected opening date not yet known. It’s a case of watch this space!

It is our ambition to open a Piccolino restaurant in Henley and we are currently in advanced stages of the planning process.

We look forward to becoming a part of the Henley community and bringing Piccolino’s friendly hospitality and authentic Italian dining to the area. As soon as we are in a position to do so, we will share further detail on our plans”.
