RETURNING to the Kenton Theatre for 2019, the 24-strong National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) will take to the stage under the direction of MD Mark Armstrong to bring you the best of British big band jazz.

NYJO is a glittering showcase for the UK’s finest young professional jazz musicians, combining a hard-swinging rhythm section and a raft of hugely talented soloists. Performing around 35 concerts a year both nationally and internationally, NYJO has helped launch the careers of many of the country’s most renowned jazz musicians including Guy Barker, Amy Winehouse, Mark Nightingale and Laura Jurd. Expect a programme that pleases new audiences to jazz and die-hard aficionados alike. The orchestra never fails to entertain, and be warned – this concert always sells out!

“The National Youth Jazz Orchestra proceeded to set the Royal Albert Hall ablaze with a high-octane programme of music either unfamiliar or given in unfamiliar guises – rendered with precision and panache”
