For the last few years Greener Henley has been supporting the national Great Big Green Week initiative with events, fairs and educational activities. This year it’s running from 10th-18th June and the week is the UK’s celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

2023 sees the Henley Great Big Green Week rise to a new level, with a bumper pack of all things green happening in Henley-on-Thames which Experience Henley is delighted to be supporting.

Greener Henley are planning a week of interesting, educational, interactive and fun events including the Henley Great Big Green Fair, river cleans, scavenger hunt, a gardener’s question time, Greener Business seminar, fashion show, an energy competition, documentary ‘Green Screen’ at Regal Picturehouse, the Henley House & Garden Show and Get on Your Bike Day.

To kick things off on Saturday 10th June there will be the Henley Great Big Green Fair, in the Town Hall full of stands and stalls on show of all things green. On the same day, as well as the fair, a River & Towpath clean is planned.

Throughout the week there will be a scavenger hunt around the shops and businesses in Henley of crocheted bees, and restaurants will be encouraged to highlight the vegetarian and vegan options on their menus. Along with a bulging bag of things to do, see and get involved with, the week is culminating with the return of the hugely popular Henley House & Garden Show at Henley Rugby Club.
