Immerse yourself in A Christmas Carol

Immerse yourself in the Victorian Christmas tale of Ebenezer Scrooge as we travel in time with the ghosts of past, present and future. With Tiny Tim’s life at stake, Scrooge visits seminal moments of his life, but will he change his ways in time to save this small boy and learn the true meaning of Christmas?

The award-winning Acorn Music Theatre Company are renowned for performing their unique, site-specific theatre in weird and wonderful places. These include Blenheim Palace, Zippos circus at The Edinburgh Festival, Henley Management College for HM the Queen and in fields, barns and gardens across Oxfordshire and beyond. However, to the delight of their die hard and devoted supporters and stalwart cast, this winter Acorn are returning to the warm embrace of the historic Kenton Theatre to present a bold and new retelling of Charles Dickens’ wonderful story ‘A Christmas Carol’.

Expect dynamic physical theatre, innovative set design and original live music created by the Company with award-winning composer and sound designer Tom Foskett-Barnes, whose theatre work includes productions at The Globe and The Old Vic. The Company will also be joined by puppeteers Seb Mayer (Zarafa the Giraffe, Dr Dolittle, Don Quixote) and Daisy Beattie (War Horse, 101 Dalmatians, Animal Farm) who will work with them to create hand-made, bespoke puppets for the production.

Acorn’s adaptation of ‘A Christmas Carol’ promises to be a visual treat for all ages.

“An outstandingly vibrant and creative Company…… everything a youth theatre should be.”

Paul Greengrass – Patron, Film Director (The Bourne Supremacy / Ultimatum / Captain Phillips)
