It’s strange isn’t it how some things, though not seen as taboo, are equally avoided or not really discussed. Hearing loss affects so many, but the difference when an issue you have with your hearing is improved can be truly life changing.

Henley resident David Pink says, “booking an appointment at Help in Hearing was the best thing I ever did”. David tells us about his recent experience at the newly named audiology practice next to Zizzi’s in Hart Street where they offer everything ear and hearing related, from the latest hearing aid technology and swim moulds, to tinnitus advice and microsuction wax removal.

When he first visited Help In hearing, David says that he was taken aback by the amount of time and care he was given by Henley audiologist and ear care specialist Bryan Venters, “I had more tests than I’ve ever had before. Bryan was incredibly thorough, and nothing was too much trouble. I don’t think people realise how much programming and fine tuning goes into sorting out hearing problems”.

Audiologist Bryan says, “I find it so rewarding talking through different types of hearing problems and then finding the right personalised solution to suit the individual, and their lifestyle. I enjoy being able to fit the most technologically advanced hearing aids and meet with wonderful people who need help with their hearing”.

The reception team is led by Kinga Silver who has worked at the clinic as their patient care coordinator for over 5 years and she knows first-hand what a difference a good audiologist can make, having suffered from sudden hearing loss six years ago, “Good patient care has always been my priority and it is at the heart of Help in Hearing”.

David totally agrees as when he was in Scotland just before Christmas last year, on the return journey his suitcase was lost by the airline. He wears rechargeable hearing aids and one of his most vital possessions, his hearing aid charger, was in the case. Help In Hearing organised a replacement charger quicker than David’s suitcase was found.

David said that such customer service is hard to come by nowadays. It was such a small thing but so important to him.
