Harlequin Chef Residency at Hart Street Tavern

James Erasmus Residency

As our restaurants dip their toe back in the water of feeding us hungry hoards, they are having to find their way and there may be a few changes to how things were before.

This is certainly the case with the Hart Street Tavern who have announced that Chef James Erasmus of Harlequin in Fulham will be taking up residency as Head Chef while his own restaurant remains closed.

James originally from South Africa certainly has pedigree having worked previously at Michelin starred The Ledbury and their sister restaurant The Harwood Arms before opening Harlequin in 2018.

What should we expect from James’ menu? The team at the Tavern say that James has created a menu especially for them with his own creative style but remaining faithful to the Tavern’s approachability. The menu will develop over the next few weeks.

“Beat a path to it’s door wherever you live” – Harlequin Restaurant

William Sitwell – Food Writer and Restaurant Critic for The Telegraph

Looking at dishes that have graced the tables at the Harlequin, it looks like we can certainly expect some South African influences.

Great to see a new injection of energy and quality to Henley food scene along with the likes of Crockers of Henley and Orwells at Binfield Heath.

Why wouldn’t you come to Henley just for the food.

We look forward to road testing James’ menu at the Tavern soon.
