Funky Fourstate creates cafe, refillery & soon to be co-working space

Would you like a coffee with that Recycled London Fire-Hose Bag? Well, yes, we don’t mind if we do!

On Saturday (11th Feb) Fourstate in Duke Street, Henley-on-Thames opened it’s doors with a new set up incorporating a cafe along with it’s retail offer of lifestyle sustainable goods and products after expanding into what was Drifters Coffee House.

Owner of Fourtstate, Patrick Brown, said that the hybrid and quirky set up is what he always wanted out of the Henley store and is excited about his plans for the unit.

Some of the shelving space has made way for a serving area along with repurposed tables and funky chairs made of out recycled plastic, where customers can come in and enjoy their coffee (for lovers of Coopers coffee rejoice), tea and cake on offer. This is the first stage of Patrick’s exciting plans.

Through the door on the ground floor is the ‘Refillery’ where you can top up and refill your household cleaning products. Just take along any container for your refills or you can purchase some refill bottles.

Patrick says that he loves the quirky layout with doors, stairways, twists and turns as it allows him to be creative and maximise the use of space.

Upstairs isn’t ready yet, but he said that he wants to create a contemporary co-working space, where people can come and work in an open, comfortable environment and also being able to grab a bite to eat. Grab and go lunch bites and ideas such as epic cheese toasties, salad bowls and cakes.

As there is a licence to serve alcohol, there is also a plan for upstairs to be open into the evening and keeping with Fourstate’s green and eco credentials you can expect sustainable gins and rums on offer, and local beer lovers will be pleased to know that they intend to serve Henley’s Lovibonds beer.

Signage, and all the other plans and schemes are a work in progress. We love the sound of Patrick’s plans for Fourstate and wish him all the best.

We’ll be in for a bit of co-working, a beer and toastie, who’s going to join us?

If you haven’t done so already, pop in to check out their great shop or have a look at their website FourState | Planet First Living to find out about their planet first living products.
