A New Latin‑Inspired Café‑Bar Coming to Hart Street

There’s a fresh burst of energy coming to No.34 Hart Street, where Tepuy, a new Latin‑influenced café‑bar is quietly taking shape. Ricardo, a charismatic Venezuelan who lives in Henley, is pouring his heart into transforming the space into something Henley doesn’t quite have yet, a relaxed, all‑day hangout inspired by the café‑bars of Spain and Portugal.

By day, it will serve speciality coffees sourced from across Latin America, a nod to Ricardo’s heritage and the vibrant café culture he wants to recreate. Into the evening, the space will shift into a neighbourhood bar, with small plates planned for later down the line once the kitchen offer is fully ready.

Ricardo, who is currently working full time, has been spending every spare hour renovating the interior himself. The results are already showing with a smart new bar, refreshed walls, a reimagined fireplace and a newly improved basement room to follow, that will add extra character and flexibility to the venue. He’s also hoping the garden will be ready in time for summer.

It’s early days, but his vision is clear, a stylish, welcoming spot with a touch of Latin warmth, designed for morning coffees, evening drinks and everything in between. Henley will no doubt be watching this one with interest.

Ricardo is hoping to open in time for Henley Royal Regatta. They are currently awaiting their premises licence.
