Afternoon tea may be a British classic, but Café Luxe is is breaking the mould of the traditional British afternoon tea with the launch of its brand‑new Afternoon Tea Experience, a collection that’s designed for every kind of guest.

Caroline Jobbins, owner of Café Luxe said, there isn’t anywhere special that just jumps to mind when someone asks about where to have Afternoon tea in Henley as they are all pretty much the same, so she has created a whole Afternoon Tea menu for whisky lovers to cheese obsessives, doggies to Dad’s and kids to grannies. Perfect for the beautiful, quaint & quirky cafe located in The Relais Hotel. Caroline says that she just wants to elevate what they already do.

Launching just ahead of Father’s Day, the collection offers a brilliant alternative to the usual pub lunch routine. Instead, Café Luxe is inviting families to celebrate with something a little more imaginative, a Gentlemen’s Afternoon Tea featuring delicious savouries, like sausage rolls and scotch eggs with optional drinks pairings or ‘Gentlemen’s Enhancement’ such as whisky or craft beer. It’s indulgent, a little bit different and unmistakably Luxe, the perfect treat for dads who deserve a little bit of a change up from the pub lunch.

But the Afternoon Teas don’t stop there. Café Luxe has created a full suite of themed afternoon teas, each with its own unique favours and pairings. The Classic Afternoon Tea honours tradition with delicate finger sandwiches, prawn cocktail and smoked salmon, scones, cakes and sweet treats. Of course there can’t not be a traditional cream tea on the menu and there is a Savoury Afternoon Tea if cakes and petit fours aren’t your thing. Here’s one that we’re keen to try and sounds perfect for all you cheesy fiends out there, Afternoon Cheese which offers a playful twist on the ritual swapping scones for stilton, jam for chutney, and tea for wine if you fancy it.

We think that this one may be a bit of a show‑stealer though, the Doggy Afternoon Tea. This has come about as Caroline says that she often gives pup treats when they come in with their owners, so why not give them their own Afternoon Tea. With a pup‑friendly menu, treats and a cosy, dog‑loving atmosphere, is it set to become Henley’s cutest dining experience?
