FLYTE Bar prepares for take-off

FLYTE, a new bar and experience concept is due to land in Henley this November. The venue is set to launch a bold new hospitality idea that’s all about taste and experience according to founders Daniel Banks, Daniel Cousineau and Nacho Fernandez.

‘Where tacos meet tequila, wine, and cocktails. Curated FLYTEs, bold flavours, and good times’.

The bar which is opening in the former Green Room, is all about the art of flights, tastings of things you love (or things you’ve never tried before). Think sipping your way through a trio of smoky mezcal creations, sampling craft brews, or grazing on globally inspired taco pairings. We’re in!

With seating for just 46 the venue will be an intimate spot, whether it’s popping in for a quick flight of tacos for lunch or settling in for an evening of exploring cocktails and wines.

Why Henley? The team behind FLYTE Bar chose Henley as it is really special to them. It’s where they have lived, fallen in love, spent countless weekends by the river and that their love of the town, its history, its openness and the people who make it what it is, made launching in Henley just felt right.

With the business firmly rooted in Henley, local producers will be at heart of the offering with them working with the likes of Stanlake Park, Fairmile Vineyard, Renegade, Rebellion, Loddon Brewery, and Double Barrelled alongside other makers and producers from Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

Dan Cousineau, said that when they envisioned Flyte Bar, they wanted to create a space where the vibrant flavours of tacos meet the artistry of craft cocktails and felt that Henley deserved a place where people could come together, unwind, and enjoy a little culinary adventure.

Daniel Banks continues that the idea for FLYTE came from their complete inability to ever choose just one thing off a menu, “Why commit to a single taco or cocktail when you can try three? That’s the spirit of FLYTE; curiosity, variety, and a bit of fun. Henley was the obvious choice for us. It’s where I founded my watch business, it’s where our team studied, lived, and built roots and it’s the perfect crowd for a bar that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still does things properly. We’re here to make Henley proud…plus, let’s be honest, everyone loves a cheeky taco.”

Nacho Fernandez, who makes up the trio of founders, hails from Uruguay and says that food and drink is part of their culture, that it brings people together and that same spirit is what they want to capture in Henley.

In September they are going to be launching a campaign to bring the bar to life through offering perks, gift cards, the opportunity to join their membership programme and to bag a seat at the bar at the opening party.

We can’t wait. Bring on the cocktails and tacos! Boarding passes at the ready, locals can sign up for updates and be among the first in the queue. For more information and to get yourself on the mailing list, visit their website FLYTE Bar
