Mary Blandy: A Retrial
Mary Blandy: A Retrial is back by popular demand, after a sell-out production earlier this year.
Henley Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society aka HAODS are once again re-trying Mary Blandy, Henley’s infamous murderess, convicted and condemned to death for killing her father in 1752.
270 years later we are still talking about her, and the case is now being looked at through a modern filter, and applying modern laws… so would she be guilty now?
The evidence is presented by a distinguished cast, and with the help of the words spoken by actual witnesses of the time.
In this production, you, the audience, are the jury! Even we do not know which way the verdict will be cast! You decide!
A donation from the profits will be made to the Chiltern Centre.
Show Details – This is an amateur production by HAODS and takes place in HAODS Studio. Unallocated seating- no need to choose your seats when requested.
