A Taste of Henley Returns – Jimmy’s Pop-Up at Upper Thames

Of course we were right when we said that riverside dining in Henley was going to be de riguer this summer with Jimmy’s Pop-Up ‘A Taste of Henley’ re-surfacing at Upper Thames Rowing Club from June 17th until July 13th.

Jimmy’s Pop-Up joins Sojo Riverside Diner at Culden Faw and The Terrace at the Red Lion Lawn for a summer full of river watching, dining and drinking.

A Taste of Henley at Upper Thames is bringing a locally sourced menu along with a riverside bar and street food offer. There will be upstairs dining on their river view terrace with the tasting menu which is bookings only and it’s walk-ins for the street food & bar.

Jimmy Garcia is not unfamiliar with Henley having catered for private parties along with their Garden Bistro and BBQ bus at Henley Festival, last summer’s hugely popular ‘The Lockdown Lodge’ (yes, that was Jimmy and his team) to aboard the New Orleans in November at Hobbs of Henley.

You can expect a seasonal menu based on using the freshest ingredients which means that sometimes the dishes may vary. Upstairs tasting menu dining features a set menu for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike. You will certainly spot a few local producers fantastic ingredients including Bosley Patch tomatoes, Gabriel Machin smoked salmon, English Farm Longhorn Beef, Bix Cheese and Honeys of Henley.

The BBQ Street food kitchen will be open daily 12pm-10pm, 7 days a week with their signature Bone Marrow Burger with smoked Applewood cheddar, Lebanese flatbreads with chemoula spice lamb koftas, English Haloumi wrap, Chickpea & Squash Falafel along with some naughty fries and sides thrown in for good measure.
