Put a Date in Your Diary
What happens when you’re single for whatever reason, separation, divorce, after losing a loved one or just plain and simply love being single, but don’t want to keep bothering your friends to go to the theatre or out for dinner; and just want a fun time with like minded people and if you happen to meet someone who floats your boat, that’s a bonus?
Not everything is about meeting online or judging a book by it’s cover or photo! Introducing ‘Date in the Diary‘, a lifestyle club hosting events and experiences for singles in their 40s and 50s to transform your single social life and the first Henley event is coming up next week at Stable 34 in Hart Street.
Born out of frustrations of dating after divorce. Lisa Norbury got busy talking to lots of friends and contacts about the types of event experiences they might enjoy, their interests and all those things they’ve never done but wished they had like learning about new world wine or to Salsa dance! These conversations informed the many event ideas, along with lots of social get-togethers.
Launched in December focusing on Marlow and surrounding area Lisa has held social evenings, Clay Pigeon Shoots at EJ Churchill and a Paint and Sip evening at The Marlow Club. She says that they have also just teamed up with Paddleboard Maidenhead launching SUP singles tours plus talking sunset kayak tours, Segway rides on a country estate, learning to cook Michelin-star style, painting and prosecco, gin tasting, cocktail parties and more.
Lisa has since launched their Single Mingle nights to allow for people to find out more about how it works, which are proving to be a great success. A great way to go along and informally see what Date in the Diary is all about, the events they host and just see the types of people who are going to their events.
When we spoke to Lisa she said, “it’s not just about finding a date. Lots of ladies swapped numbers with ladies to organise nights out with each other just to be able to have more single female friends. Guys swapped numbers to go and have a beer. Two guys that are new to the area and don’t know many people are going for a beer tomorrow night and we have had dates out of every event so far”.
So all you singletons who want to meet new people for whatever reason pop the following date in YOUR diary, next Wednesday 6th April 7.30pm at Stable Thirty Four in Hart Street, Henley. There’s nothing to lose by going along and get mingling with some lovely likeminded Henley singles.
