🍀Win a meal for two at Guinness Open Gate Brewery’s Gilroy’s Loft

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day we have partnered with the Guinness Open Gate Brewery to give away a three course meal for two with a pint of the black stuff. Experience Henley was lucky enough to be invited to Gilroy’s Loft just before Christmas where we enjoyed oysters, Guinness and cocktails before popping downstairs to try out The Porter’s Table.

The new Guinness Open Gate Brewery in the heart of Covent garden recently opened by King Charles, is home to the new seafood destination restaurant Gilroy’s Loft. Perched on the fifth floor it sits atop the brewery like the perfect head on a pint of Guinness!

With Great British Menu star and Michelin-trained executive chef Pip Lacey at the helm, the menu at Gilroy’s Loft is a seafood‑focused restaurant with views over Covent Garden, serving oysters, grilled lobster, and dishes designed for pairing with their small‑batch brews.

Choose from a stunning selection of fresh fish and seafood dishes – check out the menu here. We loved the iced seafood counter with everything on display behind the bar. Their house-cured fish, served with proper Guinness soda bread, is an absolute must-try. It is recommended that you start with native oysters, freshly shucked and served on ice with shallot vinegar, or dressed with bold, expressive flavours like fermented chilli, blood orange or seaweed cream. It’s all rather glorious. Read the review from Hot Dinners here.

Built on the historic Old Brewer’s Yard it is a working microbrewery producing limited‑edition and experimental beers with the focus on innovation giving the brewers freedom to create new styles. Fresh Guinness from Dublin is served on site. There are also brewery tours and experiences available to book.

Before you leave, make a visit to the Pie Truck in Old Brewer’s Yard with the menu from London’s Pie King, Calum Franklin. The pies are baked fresh on-site every day. A standout is the braised beef cheek and Guinness pie – a must-try for fans of the black stuff. If you can’t decide they even have a pie flight!

There’s even a shop if you fancy a bit of Guinness merch!

Hop on the Elizabeth Line from Twyford direct to Tottenham Court Road for a great day visiting the new brewery. Tottenham Court Road is one of the most convenient stations to arrive at, especially if you prefer to walk and soak up the West End atmosphere or it’s just a 3 minute journey by tube.
