Family heritage bakery opens in Henley

Reading’s oldest bakery has landed in Greys Road bringing a trifecta of new businesses to Greys Road corner along with The Duke Pub & Restaurant with their warm welcome and excellent food, and soon to open stylish German Nolte Kitchens showroom.
Baking by hand since 1932, Warings opened it’s new bakery and coffee shop just before Regatta, with it’s delicious mint coloured shop front, bringing over ninety years of heritage, tradition, and bakery treats to town.
Four generations have shaped Warings into the much loved institution it is today, with baking methods that remain faithful to their roots. Their overnight small batch baking at the Spencer’s Wood bakery in Reading means Henley customers can enjoy fresh bread and pastries delivered daily and still warm.

If you know, you know! There will be much joy in Henley that Warings produce a pretty legendary Lardy Cake. Let the Lardy Cake stories commence of whose was the best in Henley ‘back in the day’! They also have their must-try Double Knot Doughnuts, artisan sourdough matured over 72 hours, and the now infamous Buns of Joy cinnamon buns (they absolutely live up to their name). Plus wonderful traditional bakes spotted such as Eccles Cakes and good old fashioned Bread Pudding. There’s also sausage rolls, generous savoury bakes, pre-filled rolls, loaves, buns, baps and great coffee courtesy of Henley’s own Anonymous Coffee.
We think that their bacon or sausage bap with coffee breakfast offer will be super popular at £6.50, bargain, and good news for the early birds out there as they will be open from 7am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 3pm on Sundays.
Warings say that they like to think that what sets them apart is their love for the community, their eye for quality, and their commitment to creating something worth gathering around, “we are excited to become part of Henley’s vibrant community, continuing our tradition of bringing people together over exceptional baked treats and creating new memories in this picturesque market town”.
