The Bull on Bell Street has a spring in its step

Well the weather really has decided to treat us recently, so with spring in the air, new spring menus have been popping up including The Bull on Bell Street who invited Experience Henley to try out some of the new spring dishes on the menu.
The starters we had were great and perfect for sharing. All the dishes we tried are new to the menu, the Nduja Pinsa Tonda, Truffle & Cheese Arancini and Chicken Wings.
The soft and fluffy flatbread with nduja and cherry tomato paste, blue cheese and finished with fresh rocket and prosciutto, was a perfect pairing of flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
The arancini are an ideal bar snack or sharing dish with little golden bites packed with rich umami flavour, perfectly crisp on the outside and irresistibly soft within. These could be dangerous for sure.
The chicken wings were tasty with a little heat and sweetness, though we think for the price that it could be a more generous offering. Hey guys, throw a couple more wings in that dish.
Also, new to the nibbles, sharers and starters are the Blue Corn Tortilla with guacamole & Pico-de-Gallo, as well as the Cauliflower Wings with Hoisin Dressing & Seaweed, and the Heirloom Tomato Salad in a White Balsamic Dressing with Basil and Vegan Feta. Not sure if there is a non vegan feta choice or not but you can add some Prosciutto for an extra.

Spring isn’t spring without lamb and the lamb rump was well flavoured and generously portioned with mint, new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and a red wine jus.
We were going to choose the Chicken, Mushroom & Roast Garlic Pie as recommended, however they had sold out. That’s a good sign, and were told that they were making more. Instead we had the Buttermilk Chicken Burger which was pretty tasty and a good brioche bun which held up to containing the contents of the burger. Nothing worse than your bun falling apart! You can choose to add bacon and/or cheese. The fries were lovely but a small portion. More fries please guys.

Definitely give this dessert a go, it was so summery, light and full of fresh strawberry flavours. It’s their Strawberry & Wild Berry Sundae with condensed milk ice cream, strawberry ice cream, rhubarb & elderflower ice cream, with fresh strawberries and meringue. A bit of a winner.
The new spring menu has plenty of dishes to choose from and of course they have their steak, burger and sourdough pizza menus too.
