Sharing Past Coronation Memories
On Saturday 6th May along with the rest of the United Kingdom, Henley-on-Thames will be celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III.
As part of the town festivities there will be a live TV screen in front of the Town Hall for the people of Henley to gather together to watch the live streaming of the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
In the build up to watching the coronation, Henley Scan are calling out for anyone that may have any images or video footage of themselves, street parties or the festooned town from the Queen’s Coronation in 1953 that can be shared on screen of Henley’s previous coronation celebrations.
The delightful image above of a King’s Road party, crowns and all, was provided by Robert Eddings. Do you, your mum or grandparents have anything stashed in a cupboard or up in the loft gathering dust that they could contribute towards this wonderful idea of sharing past coronation memories?
If you do, please get in touch with Eva Rickett at Henley Scan eva@henleyscan.co.uk, call 01491 579103 or pop into their shop at 73, Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames RG9 1AX.
Henley Scan will scan any images free of charge and return all originals.
