PUB IN THE PARK LAUNCHES A THOUSAND THANK YOUS
Nominations open now for outstanding key workers to get free festival tickets.
Members of the public can now nominate local health care heroes and key workers to receive a pair of complimentary tickets to Pub in the Park festival this Summer. The epic foodie festival is appearing in eight locations across the UK from June.
Tom Kerridge and the Pub in the Park team will be giving away a total of 8,000 tickets to superstar key workers – with 200 tickets per event reserved for personal nominations.
Tickets are allocated on a first come first serve basis, so what are you waiting for? Treat your local hero with a thank you they will never forget!
From the NHS to teachers to volunteers – our key workers have gone above and beyond in the last year to keep things going, helping us all through tough times and getting us back on track. We can’t thank them enough for their hard work and all the sacrifices they have made in the past year.
Dr Nick Sherwood, Critical Care Consultant and Emergency Planning Clinical lead for Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust was looking for a way he could thank all his hardworking staff for their incredible heroism over the last year, so he got in touch with Pub in the Park to see what might be possible.
Tom Kerridge said: “Key workers have been the true superheroes of this pandemic, and we want to say thanks by offering 1000 complimentary tickets per region we visit so these superstars can let their hair down while enjoying some awesome music and lush grub.”
Dr Nick Sherwood said “The past year has been one of the hardest for everyone around the world, and especially front line workers. I know from first-hand experience how hard doctors and nurses have worked in the past year, and just how much they have given up for their jobs. So quite simply I wanted to thank my team for being superheroes, and what better way than with the help of my great friends at Pub in the Park”.
Greenall’s, the original London dry gin, will be supporting the initiative too, by giving a free drink to each ‘Thousand Thank Yous’ ticket holder at selected events*. They said: “The last 18 months have been incredibly tough for communities across the UK and our frontline workers have been simply amazing throughout. Never has anyone been so deserving of a good G&T and a proper knees-up, so we’re delighted to be supporting Pub in the Park’s ‘A Thousand Thank Yous’ initiative and can’t wait to see everyone at the bar this summer!”
From NHS workers and carers to refuse teams, to teachers and cleaners – any of the essential members of our communities will be eligible for nomination. We’ll be working with NHS trusts, the emergency services, and local people and organisations to allocate these tickets.
