The time is coming. The seasonal switchover. But what will we all be shopping for and wearing? And LFW40 kicked off with sustainability at its core. As it should be.
The trends for this year are a dash of classic elegance with a sprinkle of cosy textures and a large scoop of bold silhouettes. Some of my faves are ‘ Suited & Booted’, ‘Town & Country’ – get that Argyle sweater now! ‘Ski-Inspired Knits’, ‘All That Glitters’ and YES to ‘Duvet Dressing’ !!
Look out for:
OVERSIZED OUTERWEAR & CAPES like cocoon coats and blanket scarves that are a mix of comfort and style.
RICH EARTH TONES deep browns, oxblood, olive greens, and burnt oranges—are prominent, but they’re often paired with unexpected pops of neon or metallics for a bit of a contrast.
TAILORED SUITING is here to stay but with a twist like deconstructed blazers and asymmetrical cuts.
CHUNKY KNITS & LEATHER ACCENTS are huge paired with a more mindful fabric, creating a more sustainable winter feel good factor.
SUSTAINABLE FABRICS are also key, reflecting a continued commitment to both warmth and eco-conscious fashion from many of the high street (most still need to do more!).
ACCESSORIES like chunky boots, oversized belts, and statement bags are of course must haves (dig around your wardrobe before falling in love with new – you just know that big bag from a couple of years back is in there somewhere with something to dangle off it!).
