We are pleased to present The Lunchbox (PG) as our September silent cinema offering on Friday 18th September. The film will be shown with sub-titles. We will be partnering with Bombayish to provide street food.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Oaken Grove Vineyard, this acclaimed 2013 Hindi-language drama film The Lunchbox was written and directed by Ritesh Batra.

The film, set in Mumbai, revolves around a mistaken delivery by the Dabbawalas (lunchbox service) of Mumbai, which leads to a relationship between Saajan, a lonely widower close to retirement, and Ila, an unhappy homemaker, as they start exchanging notes through the daily lunchbox.

The Lunchbox has an age classification of PG and will be shown with English sub-titles. Running time 144 minutes.

Gates open at 6.00pm, food will be served at 7.00pm and the film will start at around 8.00pm, or when the sun goes down. 

During the summer, we are showing a selection of hand picked, (mostly) International films accompanied by themed food. The film will be shown silently on our covered terrace, and viewed on a large screen. Chairs and rugs will be provided as will headphones for the silent cinema.
