Set against the stunning backdrop of Oaken Grove Vineyard, this promises to be a delightful evening showing a 2019 film with a difference – Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom, a touching and uplifting story set in a remote Bhutanese village. Running time is 1 hour 49 minutes and the film is classified as a PG. A bit like a silent disco, headphones will be loaned for each guest to listen to the movie.

In this quietly charming drama from Director Pawo Choyning Dorji, a trainee teacher with ambitions of becoming a singer finds his plans unexpectedly derailed when he is assigned to one of the most isolated schools in the world. Marking Dorji’s debut feature, the film carries a gentle, warm spirit that resonated globally—earning the distinction of becoming the first Bhutanese production to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best International Feature.

Gates open at 6.00pm, food will be served at 7.00pm and the film will start at around 8.00pm, or when the sun goes down.
