Greener Henley: The Nettle Dress + Panel
This screening is co-presented by Greener Henley & Picturehouse Green Screen who are delighted to welcome director, Dylan Howitt to a panel following the screening and excitingly Greener Henley will have the actual Nettle Dress on display at the screening of this gorgeously slow fashion film!
Come and immerse yourself in The Nettle Dress – a poignant documentary of the healing power of nature and slow craft.
Textile artist Allan Brown spends seven years making a dress by hand just from the fibre of locally foraged nettles. This is ‘Hedgerow Couture‘, the greenest of slow fashion and also his medicine. It’s how he survives the death of his wife and finds a beautiful way to honour her.
A modern day fairy-tale and hymn to the healing power of nature and slow craft.
Green Screens are safe places to discuss issues around sustainability and climate raised by the film, everyone is invited to continue the conversation after the event in the cinema designated area and if you have brought your keep cup you can get a free tea or coffee.
“An exquisite, inspiring film”
