A New Kind of Documentary

Fall in love with the River Avon and the people fighting to protect it, the Bristol way!

Rave On For The Avon is a feature-length documentary film that follows campaigners and river lovers across a year and a half, charting their highs, their lows, their love and loss.

The film features a bunch of eclectic characters including, Lindsey a mermaid who is the first to cross the Bristol Channel towing a giant poo, Meg who marries the river and the Conham Bathing group, who have taken testing the river water into their own hands.

The film’s cinematography has been widely praised, with breathtaking shots capturing the deep emotional and physical connection between people and water. As Epigram put it: This documentary has to be one of the best embodiments of Bristol Spirit that I have ever seen on screen”

The soundtrack features a broad soundscape of Bristol artists, including the electronic neo-soul of Elder Island, the Drum and Bass of Charli Brix, DJ Ngaio Anyia’s afrobeat tracks, and the folk music of Maz McNamara. The soundtrack reflects Bristol’s myriad perspectives, walks of life, and personalities.

This special screening will be followed by a live Q&A with the director Charlotte Sawyer and a panel of local experts.

Tickets: £10.00
