English Wine Week Festival – A Celebration of Local Vineyards

Henley is set to uncork something special this summer, as the English Wine Week Festival lands on Sunday, 29th June, bringing together a brilliant mix of local vineyards and fantastic food & drinks. Running from 11am to 4pm, this celebration of English winemaking is all about showcasing the craft and dedication behind our local wine scene supporting those who make some of the best English wines around.

At the heart of it all are JoJo’s Vineyard, Fairmile Vineyard, Harrow & Hope, Leornian Wines, Dropmore Vineyard, Chiltern Valley Vineyard, Hundred Hills, Wyfold Vineyard, Windsor Great park and Marlow Valley Vineyard, proving that English wine is more than a match for its international counterparts.

Each vineyard will offer tastings and bottles to buy, giving the chance to explore your way through crisp whites, elegant rosés, and some of the finest sparkling wines that have made waves far beyond Henley.

But this festival isn’t just about wine, it’s a proper foodie experience as well.

Ryan and Liam from Orwells will be serving up their famous Orwells Fried Chicken (OFC), ensuring crispy, golden perfection.

Warren the ‘Mother Shucker’ from Wright Brothers will be in full swing, dishing out freshly shucked oysters to pair perfectly with a glass of something chilled.

Sue and Kat from Makan Malaysia are bringing a breakfast twist with their delicious bacon and egg rotis.

Imma the Bakery will be in town with a pop-up offering their award-winning breads and pastries. Ideal for stocking up on treats to take home.

And for lovers of Spanish flavours, Brindisa will be hand-carving the finest Iberico ham, accompanied by an array of Spanish delicacies that make for a perfect wine-pairing experience.

For those after something beyond the vines, Phantom Brewery will be bringing the craft beer magic, pouring some of their finest and creative brews for festival-goers to enjoy.

One thing’s for sure, Sunday 29th June is shaping up to be a rather tasty day, filled with fine wine, great company, and great food. Raise a glass and get ready for a proper taste of Henley.

Tasting tickets can be bought online here in advance in books of 6, 12 or 18. Each ticket costs £1 and can be collected on the day from Pavilion Foods.
