Well, it’s been a long time coming and not before time for the fantastic team at Crockers Henley. Along with many other people we were due to experience the culinary skills of Dean Westcar Head Chef of the Thames Chef’s Table back in April before Coronavirus and the UK Lockdown scuppered those plans!
So our time had come last weekend for us pull up a rather stylish chair at the fourteen seater counter surrounding the impressive Thames kitchen.
You’re not going to go wrong with a place that greets you with a glass of delicious Gusbourne Vintage Sparkling Wine and a welcome so warm, they’re lucky we didn’t hunker down and move in upstairs.
At Crockers it certainly is all about the experience and as you sip on your aperitif you can watch the small but perfectly formed brigade prepare for service. We chose to have the paired wine flight along with the tasting menu, a fantastic selection of wines to match the superb dishes we were presented with.
We’re not going to give too much away as we want you to experience the anticipation of what awaits and you won’t be disappointed.
You really are part of the kitchen and the Chef’s Tables at Crockers are exactly what they should be. Head Chef, Dean and his team have invited you to their dining table. They welcome you, explain every dish, morsel and bite you are about to experience, chat to you throughout the evening and encourage you to ask questions.
From exquisite snacks, to sublime tastes to wow your tastebuds, it’s a fantastic way to spend several hours submerged in a flavour nirvana.
Expect to see awards, expect a waiting list, expect a meal to remember. It’s a performance, it’s entertainment, it’s a culinary experience.
