We may still be waiting for the sun to get it’s hat on proper, so what better way to cheer us up than to think of those lazy hazy summer days in one of Henley’s fabulous courtyards.

Experience Henley were lucky enough to catch up in the one of the king of the courtyards and have lunch with the new General Manager of Hotel du Vin, Damien Davenport last Friday basking in the sunshine sun trap in the centre of the old brewery site. By the way the smoked salmon was delicious.

We’ll keep it brief as there’ll be more articles to come for sure about this iconic venue which seems to have tumbled off the town map a bit, but Damien is determined to shake it up and plant it firmly back where it belongs.

They’ll be introducing a new wine cellar (currently 50% off loads of wines at the moment – get down there and grab a few!), revamping the courtyard bar area with an outside bar, rejuvenated flowers beds, baskets and pots and planning various kinds of events including film nights.

They have been running off a short menu since reopeing on 12th April, but a new longer menu will be introduced soon and Damien, having owned and run his own chain of restaurants across Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton (he knows his food), is hoping to bring in some Henley own designed dishes to the menu as well.

Hotel du Vin Henley is looking forward to hopefully opening the doors for indoor dining and their beautiful boutique rooms from May 17th.

They’ll be more exciting things to talk about ‘hot of the press’ in the next few weeks to come. This nose tapping is becoming a habit.

Welcome back Hotel du Vin, we’re excited and we can’t wait.
