Biggins to Switch on Henley’s Christmas Lights
King of the Jungle and Pantomime Legend, Christopher Biggins will be joining the festivities at this year’s Late Night Shopping and Christmas Festival event in Henley on Friday 24th November.
He will be switching on the lights of the big Christmas Tree in the Market Place at 7pm alongside The Mayor, Christmas Card Competition winner and Kenton Theatre pantomime characters. Mayor Kellie Hinton and her predecessor, Councillor Sarah Miller, recently went to Greenfield Farm in Christmas Common to select this year’s tree.
Christopher Biggins says “I’m thrilled to be turning on the Christmas Lights in Henley-on-Thames, which is a town I love and have often visited to see friends. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year and I’m looking forward to meeting Kellie, the Mayor of Henley, and switching on the Christmas Lights next month”
Town Centre Manager, Paul Carey says “Christopher Biggins is a national treasure and I’m thrilled that he’ll be coming to Henley to turn on the Christmas lights this year. Biggins is synonymous with Christmas and it’s brilliant to have such a well know celebrity launching Henley’s Festivities”
