Asian den of deliciousness for Henley
If you’re craving a katsu, laksa, nasi goreng or gyoza fix, you’re in luck as The Big Table Group, owners of Café Rouge, are transforming the Parisian café into an Asian den of deliciousness, The Banana Tree.
The restaurant takes you on a Southeast Asian tour across Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia and handpicks the best dishes from soups and salads, to dumplings, wok-tossed noodles, stir fries and curries.
The Banana Tree started as a small café called Street Hawker in Maida Vale born out of founder William Chow’s passion for Southeast Asian cuisine and they say that not much has changed apart from the name fuelling spirits with the same recipes and values.
“Experience a Hawker centre for yourself and gather your friends at our communal bench tables with a round of Dead Man’s Fingers cocktails!”
The Banana Tree also boasts that 40% of it’s menu it’s plant based, have an extensive vegan menu and even have a Vegan Club card as well.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information and opening dates.
A planning application by Big Table Group Ltd was registered at SODC on 31st July for internal alterations, external decoration and new signage.
