Armed Forces Day Musical Celebration
Royal British Legion’s Henley Community Poppy Appeal is inviting you all to a free musical celebration of Armed Forces Day with the prestigious RAF Salon Orchestra on Saturday 25 June 2022 from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM at Market Place, Henley-on-Thames.
The Royal Air Force musicians will be welcomed by The Royal British legion’s Patron Her Majesty The Queen’s official representative in Henley, Deputy Lieutenant Lady Cynthia Hall.
The Salon Orchestra often perform at Royal events, but for RAF high flyers they remain thoroughly grounded entertainers, and are looking forward to an interactive performance with a Henley audience.
The orchestra will play a varied repertoire and take requests from the audience whether classical, pop, or anything they fancy. They are especially looking forward to taking requests from children.
It is an honour that these accomplished musicians, who are all active military service personnel, are joining us to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
There will also be classic military vehicles and an RBL stall with a selection of year-round Poppy collectables including special Poppy lapel pins commemorating Her Majesty’s Platinum jubilee and the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War. All proceeds will go towards funding the vital welfare and other support RBL provide to our Armed Forces community.
In these uncertain times, our Armed Forces personnel are working extra hard in critical humanitarian and other operations as well as being on high alert during the Ukraine conflict. Come and enjoy this musical celebration with the RBL and the RAF and show your support for our Armed Forces community.
All are encouraged to take photos and videos at the event and share them on social media, tagging @HenleyPoppies and #SaluteOurForces
It will be a great day and a good start to the Henley Season!
