Henley is set to welcome a new culinary landmark with the opening of The Duke on Duke Street in December. Masculine and naval in design and feel, what a handsome fella The Duke is going to be with a colour palette of deep burgundy and blue to breathe new life into this historic pub in town.

The Duke will be the latest addition to the recently founded Henley Pub Co group and will be the big brother to The Coachmakers Arms and The Royal, both in Wallingford.

The pub aims to be a foodie bolt-hole, offering a menu that’s both grounded in tradition and elevated by innovation. By delivering small plates that showcase the best of seasonal produce, prepared with simplicity and sophistication, it’s clear that founder Henry Day and his team are looking to craft an experience that’s not just about dining, but about creating a warm, personal, and vibrant atmosphere, not losing the important element of being a pub.

Once a prominent feature on Duke Street those Henleyites old enough will remember the old Duke’s Head currently where Spoon and Henley Menswear are so it’s good to see a Duke back in Duke Street. Though Duke Street was formerly known as Duck Street back in the 1800’s near a place called Dirty Bottom…thanks goodness for the road name change!

The Henley Pub Co are currently recruiting, email enquiries@thedukehenley.co.uk for more info.
