Want to celebrate Burns Night at home this weekend and don’t want the faff of cooking yourself? Here are a couple of suggestions for local takeout/finish at home.

Enjoy a Rabbie Burns take out by award winning chef Paul Clerehugh from gastropub The Crooked Billet in Stoke Row.

Well known for fabulous Sunday Roasts and sea food platters, Paul has traditional Haggis, Neeps & Tatties for all our local Scottish friends and family and anyone else who fancies celebrating…and why not!

Paul would normally be hosting a Burn’s Night at the pub with live music so he has thrown in a link for The Crooked Billet’s favourite Scottish Ceilidh Band, Kippers & Kilts so that you can Address the Haggis with bagpipes at home.

Gravy & Custard, based in Watlington have special Burns Night Delivered Supper on the menu this weekend. Enjoy the Gravy & Custard experience at home with their three course menu.

Cider Braised & Pressed Pork Belly, Neeps & Tatties, Haggis Bon Bons, Pinwheel Crackling and Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce. With Haddock Cullen Skink to start and Prune & Date Cranachan with Shortbread to finish it sounds like a pretty good way to celebrate the Scottish bard.

You can also add some Maple Cured Smoked Salmon, Chrystalised Ginger Shortbread or a wee dram of Isle of Jura 12 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey to your order.

Vegetarian options are available and free delivery within 15 miles of Watlington.
