Summer Planting Workshop & Lunch at Blue Tin
Bring your gloves and a trowel—this is an event where you’ll be getting your hands dirty as Louise Hampden, producer of Gardener’s World over the last 20 years, returns to Blue Tin with a new workshop. Bringing her insane love of plants along with 30 years’ experience in horticulture, television and writing books, come along for a relaxed, practical session planting up a summer border together. Beginning with morning coffee and culminating with a delicious al fresco Blue Tin lunch and glass of wine or alternative.
We’ll build the planting as a group, working with a carefully chosen palette of perennials that will return year after year. As we go, you’ll learn why each plant has been chosen, whether for its value to wildlife, its ability to cope with our variable climate, its longevity or the role it plays in holding any border together.
Along the way, we’ll look at how to structure a border, how plants sit alongside each other, and why leaving space can be just as important as filling it.This is about learning through doing, gaining confidence, asking questions and seeing how a planting scheme comes together in real time.
Bring along any of your gardening questions for a Q&A session after lunch. You’ll leave with planting inspiration, a plant list you can download, and a Blue Tin X Louise Hampden gift bag to take home.
