A new independent craft beer & gin bar is coming to town

Henley’s hospitality scene is about to welcome a new arrival. Kerrera Bar, a popular independent craft beer and gin bar from Guildford, has announced plans to open a second location in Henley taking over the former Phantom Brewing site in Gardiner Place which will please all those who miss hanging out at Echoes.

Known for its rotating taps, small‑batch spirits and relaxed, ‘conversation‑first’ atmosphere, Kerrera Bar, named after a small Scottish Island, has built a loyal following in Surrey. The Henley bar will follow the same ethos, offering ten taps pouring beers from Siren Craft Brew from Finchampstead and Wokingham’s Bearwood Brewing alongside a changing line‑up of local and international breweries. Guests can also expect a curated selection of English sparkling wines, local, along with Scottish and Scandinavian gins, reinforcing Kerrera’s commitment to championing independent producers.

The team has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the move, inviting both the Guildford and Henley community to help bring the new venue to life. If successful, they say that the project will create 10–15 new local jobs and that they’ll introduce a programme of community‑minded events, from run clubs to comedy nights, live music and street food pop-ups. Kerrera is planning to be fully ready for major summer events, including the World Cup and Henley Royal Regatta.

Experience Henley has reached out to the Kerrera team for further details on their plans for the Henley site and will share updates as soon as they are available.

If all goes to plan, locals and Regatta visitors alike will be able to raise a glass in Kerrera before the Henley summer season hits full swing.
