An author talk with Matthew Teller and his latest book “Daybreak in Gaza”. This remarkable book humanises the people dismissed as mere statistics and portrays lives full of joy and meaning. It stands as a mark of resistance to the destruction, and as a testament to the people of Gaza.

This book was co-edited with Matthew’s Palestinian friends Mahmoud Muna, Juliette Touma and Jayyab Abusafia, and it gathers almost a hundred accounts of Gazan lives and stories from before and during Israel’s ongoing assault, by Gaza’s writers and artists, but also its doctors and shopkeepers, its farmers and students and office workers.

The event takes place at Henley Library at 7pm on 2nd October. The doors open at 6:30pm.

You can borrow the book from the library – you can visit one of our libraries or reserve the book online. If you already own this book and would like to have it signed, bring it to the author talk. Matthew will be also selling his books during his event so you can buy your own copy here and have it signed.
