Pizza & Golden Hour at The Plough
Experience Henley took the bus to The Plough at Shiplake to go and try out their new Pizza menu from their outdoor kitchen. It was super easy as they run every 30 mins from the Hart Street bus stop and it’s only £3 each way. Beats a budget busting taxi any day!
Jump off at the Shiplake College stop and it’s only a few steps away from the gorgeous Hestia Garden at the Plough. We can imagine enjoying a fair few sundowners in this beautifully landscaped garden.
There are some really creative toppings on the pizza menu. We could have eaten every pizza on offer as they all sounded amazing. We’re definitely trying the Lamb & Garlic Calzone and the Prawn Plethora next time.
We chose the Argentinian Roast pizza with roast sirloin, chimichurri, Cornish Yarg and Padron Peppers and the Carbonara Meets the British Larder pizza which was outstanding, topped with Somerset Guanciale, PLENTY of black pepper, Burford brown egg and a personal favourite, Old Winchester cheese base.
All washed down with a beer and a perfectly chilled glass of Rosé. It’s also worth making a note of The Plough’s ‘Golden Hour’ in the Hestia Garden for reduced priced drinks Weds-Friday 4-7pm.
The garden is beautiful, pizzas are awesome…time to jump back on the bus home!
The Pizza Menu is available Thursday & Friday from 5-8pm and 12-8pm on Saturdays.
