UPDATE: Following the sold out 8pm screening of Six Inches of Soil – an additional screening time has been released @ 6pm on Wednesday 27th March at The Regal cinema! Book your ticket to see the earlier film time.

This early screening will just be the film only (so no panel)  but there will still be an opportunity to continue the conversation afterwards in the bar area afterwards with the Six Inches film producer Claire Mackenzie. Six Inches of Soil is a British independent full feature documentary shining a spotlight on soil health and regenerative farming. This promises to be an inspiring screening and conversation on our food system and how the choices we make in our daily lives impact the future.

Greener Henley is pleased to be hosting our next Green Screen event Six Inches of Soil at the Regal Cinema on 27th March @ 8pm. Tickets are selling fast so book yours now here.

Six Inches of Soil is a British independent full feature documentary shining a spotlight on soil health and regenerative farming. It tells the inspiring story of young British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food – to heal the soil, our health and provide for local communities. The film aims to sound the alarm on a broken system, but to also give hope that there is a way to fix it; to inspire farmers to adopt agroecological and regenerative farming practices; and to encourage consumers, food corporations and policymakers to support their efforts.

After the film we’ll be joined by the film’s producer, Claire Mackenzie and a panel of local experts:

  • Iain Tolhurst: Tolhurst Organic – Iain Tolhurst (known to all as Tolly) has been growing organically for over 40 years and stockfree for over 30.  Tolhurst Organic farm is a living example of a thriving farm set in just under 20 acres, using absolutely no animal inputs and producing a vast array and vegetables and fruits for the local customers.
  • Maria Spink: Colstrope Farm, Hambleden – Originally from Finland, Maria Spink more recently gave up her work in London to focus on regenerating the landscape around her farm near Hambleden.  Maria now focuses on growing wild flower to bring beautiful butterflies back to our countryside, alongside rearing Dexter cattle.
  • James Porter: English Farm, Nuffield, is the home to 100% grass-fed English Longhorn. Their organic system of rotational and conservational mob grazing allows the animals to behave as close to as nature intended.
  • Chaired by Joy Skipper – a Registered Nutritionist with a real passion for sustainable, delicious food. Joy writes food features and cookery books as well as advising clients on the benefits of a healthy diet and lifestyle.

This promises to be an inspiring screening and conversation on our food system and how the choices we make in our daily lives impact the future. Come join the discussion.
