The Nettle Dress
The Nettle Dress, woven from tragedy, magic and love is a poignant documentary of the healing power of nature and slow craft, and is showing at The Regal Picturehouse on Thursday 8th February.
This screening is co-presented by Greener Henley & Picturehouse Green Screen who are delighted to welcome director, Dylan Howitt to a panel following the screening and excitingly Greener Henley will have the actual Nettle Dress on display at the screening of this gorgeously slow fashion film!
Textile artist Allan Brown spends seven years making a dress by hand just from the fibre of locally foraged nettles. This is ‘Hedgerow Couture‘, the greenest of slow fashion and also his medicine. It’s how he survives the death of his wife and finds a beautiful way to honour her.
